Oct. 10. 2013 — -- Camille Grammer, 45, had surgery today after being diagnosed with early stage endometrial cancer, which arises in the uterus, ABC News confirms through her rep. People magazine was the first to report the procedure.

"Camille Grammer underwent a radical hysterectomy today to treat early stage endometrial cancer," Grammer's rep, Howard Bragman told ABC. "The surgery went very well and she is expected to make a complete recovery following a significant recuperation period."

Her rep added that the ex-wife of actor Kelsey Grammer was at an elevated risk due to genetic issues and "has been diligent about regular check-ups and monitoring, which explains the early detection and rapid treatment."
