— -- The late Leonard Nimoy is being remembered by his fellow cast members of the rebooted "Star Trek" movie series.

In a new video, fellow Spock actor Zachary Quinto recalls not just what made Nimoy great but how fans can do something to honor his memory.

"Leonard was an actor, a champion of the arts and an inspiration to so many," Quinto says in the video on Omaze.com. "Through his legendary portrayal of Spock, he influenced countless scientists and artists -- myself and the rest of the cast included. It was an honor and privilege to know him and to call him a friend."

As part of the "To Go Boldly" campaign, the "Star Trek" cast has been encouraging fans to pledge money to various charities and possibly win a walk-on role in the upcoming "Star Trek Beyond" film.

This week, Quinto asked fans to support a cause near and dear to Nimoy, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

"Leonard's love for the human spirit shown through everything he did. He touched lives around the world and he is greatly missed," Quinto said.

The video ends with a shot of Quinto and his fellow cast members flashing the Vulcan salute that Nimoy was known for.

Nimoy died in February at age 83 from end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
