Joey McIntyre Completes Boston Marathon for Second Year in a Row

April 22, 2014 -- Joey McIntyre has completed the Boston Marathon for the second year in a row.

"3:48:11 baby!!! #BostonMarathon . Couldn't have done it without you guys!! Big congrats 4 an amazing 3:50 by my man @dannywood! #celebrate," he tweeted shortly after completing the race.

His bandmate, Wood, also expressed his joy via social media.

"I did it! So proud of Joe Mac, he crushed it! And thanks to all the BH's cheering along the way! #bhlove," he wrote.

Running the Boston Marathon has been a labor of love for McIntyre, who was born and raised in the city. Last year, he completed the race just five minutes before the bombs exploded near the finish line.

"Put all [of my feelings about Boston] on top of running tomorrow in the Boston Marathon- THIS Boston Marathon- and it’s what might be considered 'too much,'" McIntyre wrote on his blog. "But my heart keeps growing for this town. It’s such a privilege to be a part of this town. This race. This comeback. This home."
