— -- After winning it all just a few weeks ago, Maksim Chmerkovskiy has officially retired from performing on "Dancing With the Stars."

"I'm done dancing," the season 18 winner said today on "The View."

"I feel like it's time," Chmerkovskiy continued, adding that he feels like the world has been in limbo with rumors about him coming back or not for the last few seasons.

Chmerkovskiy, 34, has been on the show for more than a dozen seasons, including this year with gold medal ice dancer Meryl Davis, whom he took home the Mirror Ball trophy with. It was his first championship on the show.

This was also his first season back after he left following season 16.

"I feel blessed and very honored. ... I left the show, when I came back to the show, the show was not the same," he said, adding that he felt like he was taking up a huge spot with a field of pro dancers on the show that has so much talent.

Chmerkovskiy did clarify that he's done dancing, so he could return as a guest judge or in some other capacity.

Chmerkovskiy was also asked if Jennifer Lopez, his rumored new flame, was the reason he was done dancing, but he skipped the question.
