— -- One day after Taylor Swift dominated the 2015 MTV VMAs, the show's host, Miley Cyrus, explained that she has no interest in having her own "squad" or being in Swift's.

Swift collected the big award of the night for her video "Bad Blood" and her crew of powerful, accomplished women joined her on stage to celebrate, including the likes of Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss. They were also stars of the video.

While interviewing Cyrus about her new album, "Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz," the New York Times went into her personal life, one where she used to be engaged to Liam Hemsworth, the star of "The Hunger Games" franchise.

She explained why she hangs out with non-celebs and mentioned Swift's crew.

Swift has “musicians, actresses, models, entrepreneurs" in her Squad, but she told the Times, "I’m not trying to be in the squad. None of my friends are famous and not because of any other reason than I just like real people who are living real lives, because I’m inspired by them.”

Cyrus also spoke about herself and how she's changed so much in recent years, even recent months.

“It’s really scary. If one of my friends doesn’t see me for two or three weeks, you have to re-get to know me in a way," she added. "My soul will still be the same, but everything around me can be different, and I won’t dress the same and maybe different kinds of people will be around.”
