The Personal Reasons Kanye West Didn't Release His Album This Summer

Expect the follow-up to Yeezus this fall.

— -- Kanye West graces the August cover of GQ, marking his first interview since marrying Kim Kardashian.

In the cover story, the rapper gave hints about his upcoming album, which he expects to release this fall.

"I go back and forth. Like, should it be September or should it be October? Should it be November?" he said. "When Beyoncé was working on her last album, she took a while. I was thinking it could somehow come out in June, like Yeezus, and just kill it for the summer. But then I’m like, I have to work on Adidas and be with my child."

However, he said hopes to unveil a new song in the "next couple of weeks, just to have something up and running."

The mogul says that fans will appreciate the lyrical content of his new single, "All Day." He also noted that it, and other songs on the album, are more pop than the songs on Yeezus were.

"It's like a pendulum," he explained. "The pendulum gains momentum by swinging in the other direction."
