April 24, 2014 -- intro: Recently, Justin Bieber apologized "to anyone I have offended" for posing next to the Yasukuni Shrine in Japan, adding that it was an innocent mistake. "While in Japan I asked my driver to pull over for which I saw a beautiful shrine," he explained via Instagram. "I was mislead to think the shrines were only a place of prayer. To anyone I have offended I am extremely sorry. I love you China and I love you Japan." However, it's not the first time the singer has found trouble abroad.

quicklist: 1title: Canadatext: Last year, Bieber surrendered to police on an assault charge, pegged to an incident involving a limo driver. According to Toronto police, after the teen pop star attended a hockey game, he and a group of people were picked up in a limousine and "an altercation occurred between one of the passengers and the driver of the limousine." After the limo driver was struck in the back of the head, he called the police. "The man who struck him left the scene before police arrived," a statement from authorities read. "On Wednesday, January 29, 2014, Justin Bieber, 19, of Calabasas, California, surrendered to police at 52 Division. He is facing the following charge: assault."

quicklist: 2title: U.S.text: By now, everyone knows of his DUI arrest in Florida, but that's not the only legal drama that Bieber has in the States. He was also the subject of an egg throwing-investigation in his home state of California. According to his neighbor, Bieber caused approximately $20,000 worth of vandalism damage from egg-throwing, though he has not been charged.

quicklist: 3title: The Netherlandstext: After Bieber visited the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam last spring, he caused controversy by writing what some perceived to be a flippant remark in the guestbook. "Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber," Bieber wrote, according to the museum's Twitter and Facebook accounts. However, a spokeswoman for the Anne Frank House defended the pop star. "We think he meant it well," she said. "He's only 19 years old and living in a crazy world … with all girls being fans of him worldwide. Maybe that is also why he wrote it down."

quicklist: 4title: Turkeytext: The singer caused a ruckus at Istanbul's Sabiha Gökçen Airport last May when he and his entourage ran through passport control without presenting their travel documents. According to the Dogan News Agency, Bieber and his pals went straight to their cars after landing, as airport officials ran after them. Ultimately, security did the check outside and Bieber went on his way.

quicklist: 5title: Polandtext: Fans expressed concern for Bieber after he famously walked through a Polish airport half-naked last year. After performing in Lodz, he went to the airport wearing only a pair of boxer shorts and his pants slung low despite the freezing temperature. "He wasn't told to take off his clothes," a spokeswoman for the airport told Reuters. "He had no metal objects on him. He's quite skinny so I assume he was probably freezing."

quicklist: 6title: Germanytext: This was where monkey-gate happened. After Bieber attempted to bring his pet capuchin, Mally, into the country in March, 2013, the animal was seized because the pop star did not have the required paperwork for her. He did not come back for her, and she has since been moved to an animal sanctuary in Munich.

quicklist: 8title: Australiatext: In 2013, Bieber and his pals were reportedly stopped at the Brisbane airport and searched for drugs. However, the singer was not in any sort of trouble following the incident, which came just a few days after a bodyguard reportedly tried to stop a local from snapping photos of the singer surfing.
