'The Interview': Rob Lowe, Donald Trump and Other Celebrities React to Sony Decision

Celebrities express frustration after Sony shelves the film because of threats.

— -- Celebrities expressed frustration, disdain and anger after Sony pulled “The Interview” from holiday release because of threats by cyberhackers.

Director Judd Apatow, who has worked with “The Interview” stars James Franco and Seth Rogen several times since “Freaks and Geeks” in 1999 –- was the most vocal critic after Sony’s decision to pull the film from its planned Dec. 25 theatrical release.

In a statement on Wednesday, Sony said, "In light of the decision by the majority of our exhibitors not to show the film 'The Interview,' we have decided not to move forward with the planned December 25 theatrical release," the company said in a statement. "We respect and understand our partners’ decision and, of course, completely share their paramount interest in the safety of employees and theater-goers."
