— -- Papa is a Rolling Stone.

Mick Jagger, 73, welcomed a baby boy with girlfriend Melanie Hamrick, 29, his rep told ABC News.

"Melanie Hamrick and Mick Jagger’s son was born today in New York, and they are both delighted. Mick was at the hospital for the arrival. Mother and baby are doing well," Jagger's rep said in a statement to ABC News. "We request that the media respect their privacy at this time."

This is the rock legend's eighth child. He has four children with Jerry Hall, one with Marsha Hunt, one with Bianca Jagger and one with Luciana Gimenez Morad.

Jagger also has five grandchildren, and in 2014 he became a great-grandfather when his daughter Jade Jagger's daughter Assisi Jackson welcomed her own daughter.

Hamrick and Mick Jagger have been together since 2014.

Billboard magazine confirmed the news this summer that Jagger and Hamrick, a ballerina, were going to have a child together — her first.

The news adds to the Rolling Stones' year in family news; Jagger's bandmate Ronnie Wood and his wife welcomed twin daughters earlier this year.
