— -- There's no need to head to your local multiplex or wait till fall, there's plenty to watch at home with this summer's TV premieres.

There are the highly anticipated returning favorites, such as Netflix's "Orange Is the New Black" and HBO's "True Detective," as well as a slew of new entries, including ABC's "The Astronaut's Wives Club," the Wachowskis' "Sense8" and MTV's "Scream."

For reality show junkies, there's plenty to see as well, including Bruce Jenner's still untitled reality series about his life as a transgender woman, which premieres July 26.

With the summer TV season already officially underway, here are a few premieres we can't wait to catch:

'Wayward Pines' (Fox)

New Fox series "Wayward Pines," starring Matt Dillon as a U.S. Secret Service agent investigating the disappearance of two federal agents in a small Idaho town, actually premiered May 14. But this M. Night Shyamalan mystery drama, co-starring Juliette Lewis and Terrence Howard, is worth catching up with. Premiered May 14.

'I Can Do That' (NBC)

If you're looking for lighter fare, the competition shows return, bringing some new offerings.

NBC's "I Can Do That," hosted by funny man Marlon Wayans, brings together six celebrities to showcase talents they didn't know they had. It follows the 10th season premiere of "America's Got Talent," while over on ABC, you can catch the fifth season premiere of "Extreme Weight Loss." All three premiere May 26.

The next night, CBS will offer a new summer reality show called "The Briefcase," about financially strapped families who are given a briefcase with a large sum of money and must decide whether to keep it or give some of it away to another struggling family. Premieres May 27.

'Pretty Little Liars' (ABC Family)

Teen drama "Pretty Little Liars" returns to ABC Family with season 6. This is the second to the last season of the mystery–thriller loosely based on the popular book series of the same name. If you're just catching the girls, don't worry. You can watch the first five seasons on Netflix. Premieres June 2.

'Sense8' (Netflix)

The team that brought you "The Matrix," Andy and Lana Wachowski, are behind the genre-defying new Netflix series "Sense8." It stars Daryl Hannah and "Lost" star Naveen Andrews as two of eight people from around the world whose lives are suddenly and inexplicably connected in a fight for their own survival. Premieres June 5.

'Orange Is the New Black' (Netflix)

Later in the month, Netflix will bring back "Orange Is the New Black" for a third season. This season Alex returns but Larry does not. Mary Steenburgen also joins the cast. Premieres June 12.

'The Astronaut Wives Club' (ABC)

Based on the book by Lily Koppel, "The Astronaut Wives Club," is finally coming to the small screen. Originally slated to air last April, the series was pushed to summer to make some creative changes. Premieres June 18.

'True Detective' (HBO)

The award-winning "True Detective" returns with the much-awaited second season featuring Vince Vaughn, Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams. According to HBO, this season focuses on "three police officers and a career criminal [who] must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder." Premieres June 21.

Following "True Detective," the network will debut the new series, "Ballers," a half-hour series about current and former pro football players, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and directed by "Friday Night Lights" director Peter Berg.

'Scream' (MTV)

The slasher franchise "Scream" is being turned into a weekly series on MTV, but the small-screen version bears little resemblance to the horror blockbusters. The show's creators describe it as "'Friday Night Lights' with life-and-death stakes" about a small town whose residents are being stalked and killed. Premieres June 30.

'Extant' (CBS)

Last summer's big hit, "Extant," starring Halle Berry, returns for a second season. But CBS has retooled the sci-fi drama, replacing some series regulars with new faces, including Jeffrey Dean Morgan ("Magic City") and David Morrissey ("The Walking Dead"). Don't worry, Berry and her alien son will return. Premieres July 1.

'Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll' (FX)

Denis Leary is back. The co-creator, writer and star of the firefighter drama "Rescue Me" returns to FX in those same roles in "Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll," about the lead singer of a legendary early-'90s band. Premieres July 16.

'Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!' (Syfy)

Summer would be incomplete without a disaster schlock movie, which is why we can't wait for "Sharknado 3." Original stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid are joined this time by David Hasselhoff and Bo Derek and a host of celebrity cameos. Premieres July 22.
