— -- Valerie Harper updated fans on her health status this weekend and shot down reports that she was in a coma.

"My dear friends and fans! As always, thank you for your amazing support. I am happy to report I am not, nor have I been, in a coma," she wrote Saturday on her Facebook page. "As anyone who has taken strong medication knows, it doesn’t always agree with you, even with me as this experience proves. I am confronting these hurdles with my usual enthusiasm and love of life."

Harper added a little joke to the post, in typical "Rhoda" fashion.

"But I must confess that the highlight of this ordeal came when I was escorted by two handsome young men and a pilot, in a medivac helicopter, as the full moon lit the sky. Talk about movie magic!!!" she added.

This information comes after the actress, 75, was taken to a local hospital in Maine on Wednesday night just before she was schedule to perform.

Harper was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2013 and had been featured in the Ogunquit Playhouse's "Nice Work If You Can Get It." After falling ill, she went in for precautionary reasons, a release on the playhouse's website stated.

Cheryl Farley, director of publicity at the playhouse, told ABC News that "everyone is just being careful with her."

Harper was given three to six months to live in January 2013, but the cancer has not spread since last year, when she said doctors were happy with her scans.

The playhouse added this weekend that "Academy Award nominated film star Brenda Vaccaro will step" in for Harper in the play.

"Valerie is feeling great right now and we want her to continue to rest and to enjoy her family. After discussing with them, we decided that we wanted to relieve her of any pressure of having to return to the show, which only runs for two more weeks," Artistic Director Bradford Kenney wrote on the website.
