dramatic, new video. A high-speed police chase caught on dash cam, near houston. An officer pursuing suspects after they shot her twice. Once in the face. Police have arrested one suspect. And they're hoping the video helps them find the other. Gio benitez has the story. Reporter: Shots fired. I'm hit. Reporter: In dash cam video, you can hear the calls for help from police officer ann carrizales. I'm conscious. Reporter: She had just been shot in the face and chest during a routine traffic stop. Look here. You can see the gunshot wound. Carrizales, a former marine, is a wife and mother of two. And over the weekend, she pulled over a suspicious car. It started out like every other traffic stop. As she began talking with the driver, a passenger in the car opened up a fire gun. Reporter: Hit her in the face. She fired back, striking the back window. I was thinking that I need to stay in this fight. And I needed to do what I needed to do as a police officer. That was stop these guys. Reporter: Watch. Even while injured, she's chasing those suspects. I've been shot in the face. And I know that I've taken one in my vest. Reporter: And calling for backup. Three hispanic males. I was shot by the driver's side passenger. They were bad guys. They were not going to leave my city and do that to somebody else. Reporter: She chased that car for 20 miles. I lost them. I'm not going down that street. Reporter: Watch as officers rush to her side. I'm hit twice. My wife is an extraordinary woman. And not just because of what you see on the video. We know it's a possibility that she may not come home. Reporter: She survived, returning home to her family. In part because of that bulletproof vest. The bulletproof vest worked, yes. But god saved my life. Reporter: Police arrested the alleged shooter after finding him walking on the street. They're searching for the driver of that car. Now, investigators believe the suspects are gang members who also happen to be undocumented immigrants.
