— -- Question: Are there treatments to stop or reverse my rheumatoid arthritis?

Answer: Yes. There are treatment options that will help treat and hopefully put a patient into remission with rheumatoid arthritis. That is the ultimate goal that we have in treating a patient is to put them into complete remission. We currently have two scoring systems -- the American College of Rheumatology scoring system, and a European or EULAR scoring system and they actually do have criteria that are set out for remission.

Mostly what it means is that we are controlling the patient symptoms, that they're free of joint pain, and that we're also preventing x-ray damage from occurring, as structural damage can lead to disability in rheumatoid arthritis.
