— -- For the first time in history, North Koreans have a chance to shop online.

The hermit nation's General Bureau of Public Service launched a new online shopping website called "Okryu"(pronounced "Ong-yu"), that allows users to use the country's debit card system to buy goods online, according to The Associated Press.

The rise of smartphone use compelled the country to provide an online marketplace, the AP reported, but North Koreans still cannot buy goods from international websites.
