Teen Girl Dies 3 Days After She Was Stabbed at Jerusalem Gay Pride Parade

— -- A teenager stabbed with a knife at a Jerusalem gay pride parade died today, three days after the brutal attack, according to the prime minister's office.
Shira Banki, 16, died from her injuries Sunday, a statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said. The statement also expressed condolences to Shira's family.
"Shira was murdered because she courageously supported the principle according to which everyone is entitled to live their lives in dignity and safety," Netanyahu said in the statement.
"We will not allow the abhorrent murderer to undermine the fundamental values upon which Israeli society is based. We strongly condemn the attempt to instill hatred and violence in our midst and we will deal with the murderer to the fullest extent of the law."
Five others were wounded in the attack that was reportedly carried out by an ultra-Orthodox Jewish man, Yishai Schlissel, the Associated Press said.
Schlissel, who was released from prison three weeks ago, appeared in court Friday and was ordered to remain in custody.
It was not clear what charges he faced.
Schlissel was also convicted of an attack at a Jerusalem gay pride parade in 2005 that wounded several people.
