The Hallmark Greeting Card Company archives in Kansas City, Missouri opened its doors to ABC News for a special inside look at some of the holiday cards long forgotten. Here is a selection of those cards, including the first ever produced and a few vintage adverts.

The Hallmark Archives holds two copies of the world's first printed Christmas card, which was commissioned by Sir Henry Cole, illustrated by John Calcott Horsley, printed by Jobbins of Warwick Court, Holbrun, London and hand colored by a professional artist named Mason in 1843.
