— -- What to wear? It’s the question so many women ask themselves every morning.

To help women overcome the problem, “Good Morning America” asked Lori Bergamotto, the style director of Good Housekeeping magazine, to try a five-day style experiment.

Bergamotto would wear the same basic “uniform” every day for five days. A noted fashionista, Bergamotto bought two sets of a white, button-down shirt and black pants.

“We wanted something … that was really neutral,” she said.

The challenge was to transform the look every day with accessories and try to trick her husband, Nick, and her co-workers into not noticing the repetition. Using accessories can really vary the look and help the wearer “save a lot of money in the process,” she said.
Day 1
Bergamotto went with a polished, professional look by adding leopard print pumps and a chunky gold chain necklace to the basic outfit. The choice of accessory earned her a few looks, she said.“This necklace is a little bolder than I normally go,” she noted.
Day 2
On this day, she embraced what she called a “modern femme” look, pairing a blue leopard-print top with an Obi belt over the white shirt, and pointed-toed metallic heels.

“Work day number two is coming to a close, and we did really well today, nobody noticed,” she said.
Day 3
Bergamotto goes for a 1970s-inspired, sleek throwback look, adding a black, skinny bolero tie to the look and pairing it with black, strappy heels and a black blazer. So far, it’s going well.

“I do like waking up in the morning and just throwing on what I already have planned,” she told ABC News’ Paula Faris.
Day 4
Bergamotto goes for a sophisticated look, with stacked necklaces, a bright pink cardigan and ballet flats.

“I got so many compliments, a lot of my colleagues were really into this look,” she said.
Day 5
On the final day, Bergamotto went for a summer saturday theme, pairing the basic look with sneakers and a denim vest.

“I did it, finished the whole week … nobody noticed,” she said, adding that she’d definitely do it again.
