— -- Hillary Clinton made history Tuesday night as the first female nominee of a major party in the United States.

The moment came when Sen. Bernie Sanders took the mic at the Democratic National Convention to "move that Hillary Clinton be selected as the Democratic nominee for president of the United States," nixing a roll call vote that was in progress.

Reaction in the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia and around the internet was immediate.
