— -- Josh Gordon's return to the practice field for the Cleveland Browns has been delayed.

The wide receiver reported Tuesday with a quadriceps injury that will sideline him for the first couple weeks of training camp.

The Browns placed him on the active/non-football injury list. Gordon hurt the quad while working out on his own this summer.

Gordon also met with Browns vice president Sashi Brown, coach Hue Jackson and others within the organization. Those discussions were likely about the expectations the team has for Gordon.

He had been suspended for multiple drug violations, missing the entire 2015 season. He was reinstated Monday, though he will be suspended for the Browns' first four games.

The Browns also announced that cornerback Joe Haden and rookie tight end Seth DeValve will start camp on the physically unable to perform list.

Haden's move is not a surprise as he continues his rehab from offseason ankle surgery. DeValve has a lingering hamstring problem.
