Richard Sherman: 'No love lost'

— -- RENTON, Wash. -- Richard Sherman didn't hold back when asked about how the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers feel about each other.

"There's no love lost and there's no love found," the Seahawks cornerback said Wednesday. "I don't know if there's going to be handshakes after this one. It's going to be intense and it's going to be physical."

The Seahawks host the 49ers on Sunday in the NFC Championship Game at CenturyLink Field.

Sherman was asked if he hates the NFC West rival 49ers.

"I don't hate anyone," Sherman said. "But passion, definitely. There'll be dislike, strong dislike. It's playoff football, so there'll be a lot of intensity, anyway, even if we weren't two teams very familiar with each other. But there's going to be a lot of chippiness in a hard-fought game. The two best teams in the NFC are the ones that are here."

The two teams split their division games this season, with each team winning at home.

Sherman also made a small comparison between Seattle coach Pete Carroll and San Francisco counterpart Jim Harbaugh, who Sherman played for when Harbaugh was the coach at Stanford.

Sherman said Carroll is easygoing and allows players to enjoy the moment and be who they are.

"If you're a loose guy who dances at practice, like me, he lets you be that guy," Sherman said. "It's all some of us have ever known in the NFL. He makes the game a lot more fun."

And what about Harbaugh?

"Uh, a lot less so," Sherman said, laughing.
