— -- Kansas City Royals center fielder Jarrod Dyson?made his submission for play of the year in the first inning of Thursday's game?versus the? Miami Marlins, when he robbed Christian Yelich?of a home run.

The most amazing thing is the speed at which Dyson was going when he collided with the wall and snared Yelich's drive. The play bears some resemblance to Ken Griffey Jr.'s famous catch in 1991, when the Hall of Famer also met the wall at full speed to take extra bases away.

It's also worth pointing out that the first home run robbery ever at Marlins Park came from the diminutive Dyson, who checks in at 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds.

The amazing catch, which helped set the tone for a 5-2 Royals win, could be considered revenge for Kansas City. On Wednesday, Yelich helped snap the Royals' then-MLB-best nine-game win streak by driving in two of the Marlins' three runs.
