— -- BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Softball star Jennie Finch has agreed to spend a day managing a minor league baseball team. The Bridgeport Bluefish of the independent Atlantic League say the former Olympic pitcher will serve as the "guest manager" on May 29 in a game against the Maryland Blue Crabs. The team is billing Finch's appearance as the first game in which a woman will serve as manager for a men's professional baseball team. The Bluefish put on a similar promotion two years ago, when Pete Rose served as manager for a day. Rose has a lifetime ban from Major League Baseball for betting on games while managing the Cincinnati Reds. He was allowed to take the one-day gig because the Bluefish aren't affiliated with a major league team.
