Sept. 25, 2013 — -- Hundreds of apps were released for Apple's new iOS 7 last week, including new Twitter and Facebook applications. And now the time has come for your go-to photo sharing app.

Instagram's iOS 7 app will be available starting today in the App Store and promises to improve the look of your photos. Like other iOS 7 apps, the design has been simplified with some new fonts and coloring, but the Facebook-owned app has also stretched the experience to the edges of the phone, which will increase the size of photos and video.

It has also increased the resolution of the photos so those selfies and shots of cornuts should look a lot crisper. That doesn't mean you will take photos any differently. Instagram will now just be able to process and display the higher resolution image, which should mean those shots taken with the iPhone 5s' improved camera should look even better.

There are other small tweaks, too. For instance, in the grid view, photos appear larger and profile photos are now circular to match some of the other parts of iOS 7.

You'll need iOS 7 to take advantage of the new apps, but according to Apple more than 200 million devices are already running the new operating system. If you want more information on Apple's operating system, check out our full guide to iOS 7 here.
