— -- At luxury resorts, the tiniest guests are getting top-notch food.

Never mind that these (mostly) toothless tots aren't exactly gourmands. Lately, luxury resorts are touting their gourmet, organic, made-to-order baby foods to the far more discerning: their paying parents.

The latest to launch a farm-to-table baby food program is Cabo's Esperanza, An Auberge Resort. The upscale hotel uses local farms and the resort's gardens to make items like baked sweet corn and parsnip carrot, organic butternut squash roasted with cinnamon and banana, avocado and agave.

On the tony Caribbean island of St. Barth, the Isle de France resort's “Pour les Bébés” menu offers custom blends of fish, meat, vegetables and potatoes.

In the Dominican Republic, the Eden Roc at Cap Cana in Punta Cana offers a VIBabies package which promises, in addition to swim diapers and free babysitting, a baby food menu "featuring homemade dishes made from fresh, organic ingredients."

The resort said there was no pre-set baby menu, but that guests could request any combination of preferred ingredients to have the food customized for their little one.

And while singling out their gourmet baby food offerings may be a new thing for resorts, it's possible the hotel you're staying in on your next vacation will do this for you with just a simple request. But it's worth inquiring ahead of time: Some properties -- and individual restaurants for that matter -- won't even heat up a bottle for baby for fear of being held liable if it's too hot.

But all this made-to-order-ness for baby food isn't inexpensive. Starting rates at Esperanza, for example, are $695 per night. And Eden Roc is part of the Relais & Châteaux collection of luxury hotels and resorts.
