Near Asheville, N.C., the frozen roads caused a school bus to flip over as it was attempting to take students home after an early 11 a.m. dismissal due to the weather.

"The whole bus tipped over," said one student aboard the bus. "I was sitting in the seat on the other side and kind of flew to the other side."

One student, a teenager, was injured in the accident and taken to a nearby hospital, according to officials.

ABC News Radio and The Associated Press contributed to this report.
