    Teresa and Randy had two children, Michael and Miranda. While their family was growing, so was Randy's insurance company that he and his wife ran. Their branch of Farmer's Insurance was one of the most successful in the region.

    The Stone family were active members in New Hope Baptist Church. Teresa sang in the choir and worked in the kitchen, and Randy had become the treasurer.

    At the center of their lives was Pastor David Love, the leader of New Hope Baptist Church. He and his wife Kim were close friends with both Randy and Teresa. Randy looked to the pastor as his confidant and spiritual advisor.

    Teresa became pregnant in 2005, shocking Randy and the family, as he had a vasectomy. At the time, Teresa convinced her husband the pregnancy was and act of God, and although she later miscarried, this event made more sense after it was revealed she had been having an affair with David Love.

    On March 31, 2010 Randy Stone was shot and killed in the office of the insurance company he owned. There was no sign of struggle and cash had been left on his desk, which led law enforcement to believe it was not a robbery.

    The community was shocked and saddened by Randy's death. His good friend Pastor David Love presided over the funeral. While investigating Randy's death, authorities pieced together a 10-year-long affair between Teresa Stone and Love, who became their key suspects.

    In November 2011, Love pled guilty to second-degree murder and armed criminal action. He is now facing life in prison with the possibility of parole in 25 years. A few months later, in May 2012, Teresa Stone pled guilty to conspiracy to commit murder and was sentenced to eight years in prison with the possibility of parole in June 2014.
