Dec. 9, 2013 — -- A 13-year-old Oregon girl is recovering at home with her parents today after authorities believe she spent almost five harrowing days outdoors in the cold with a man she willingly left home with.

The man, 40-year-old Kelsey McCune, has been arrested and charged with sexual abuse, rape, sodomy, kidnapping and custodial interference, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

ABC News is not using the teen's name since she is the alleged victim of sexual abuse.

"That is the belief, that she went voluntarily," Clackamas County Lt. Robert Wurpes told ABCNews.com today. "We believe they were outside."

Wurpes said they were in a wooded area not far from her home and were "limitedly prepared" for the terrain and sustained cold temperatures.

The teen and McCune were in stable condition when found, Wurpes said, and were taken to a hospital to be checked out. He said the teen is now at home with her parents.

Wurpes said further details, including why the teen may have gone with him, will have to come from detectives once the investigation is complete.

The teen, who had been last seen Tuesday night, was found in a wooded area near a mobile home park just outside Oregon City with McCune on Saturday.

Police were concerned that the girl was an "endangered runaway," especially after discovering that she had been traveling with McCune, a family friend who authorities said was a possible transient with no permanent address.

The pair was found after a resident reported seeing them near a mobile home park. A SWAT team was used to locate the pair due to the area's remote location and size.
