— -- A French bulldog has been reunited with his family more than eight months after he was stolen from his California home in an apparent burglary, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The 6-month-old puppy named Major Ralph was taken last September when a suspect, or suspects, broke into his family's home in North Hollywood by smashing a window, the LAPD said in a news release today.

This past Monday, detectives received an anonymous phone call indicating where Major Ralph was being kept, police said. The Frenchie was recovered by police on Tuesday, and his identity was verified via microchip, police said.

The LAPD said it is still requesting the public's help in identifying the residential burglary suspect(s), caught on surveillance video back in September leaving the house in a black GMC Yukon Denali.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).
