— -- British Prime Minister David Cameron called the beheading of British aid worker David Haines by the terror group ISIS "the embodiment of evil," and said the U.K. needed to work to destroy the organization. Here are five other stories from the weekend you may have missed.

1. Cris Carter's Emotional Response to Adrian Peterson's Arrest

Hall of Fame receiver and ESPN analyst Cris Carter emotionally discussed his own upbringing as the "NFL Countdown" crew talked about Adrian Peterson's booking on child abuse charges.

"My mom did the best job she could do raising seven kids by herself, but there are thousands of things that I have learned since then that my mom was wrong," he said. "It's the 21st century -- my mom was wrong. She did the best she could but she was wrong about some of that stuff she taught me and I promised my kids I won't teach that mess to them."

Carter and the "NFL Countdown" crew also discussed the Carolina Panthers' decision to place defensive end Greg Hardy on the inactive list in their game against the Detroit Lions.

Hardy was found guilty in July of assaulting and threatening his ex-girlfriend. He's currently appealing the conviction.

"How could you allow Greg Hardy on the field?" asked ESPN analyst and former Denver Broncos linebacker Tom Jackson. "Due process has played out. He's convicted. He's appealing. We know the facts of the case. They're undisputed."

Enterovirus D68, the respiratory illness suspected of hospitalizing hundreds of children across the nation, has now spread to the Northeast and is likely to hit the whole country.

Connecticut and New York are the latest states to report cases of the rapidly spreading virus that has targeted young children, especially those with asthma, in 21 states.

The Connecticut Department of Public Health received reports "from two hospitals in different parts of the state of clusters of severe respiratory illness among young children that could be due to enterovirus D68," the agency said in a statement.

The New York State Department of Health has also confirmed more than a dozen cases of enterovirus D68 in children living in the state's capital and central regions, officials said.

Police in Boone, North Carolina, believe they have found the body of a missing Appalachian State University student who was last seen nearly two weeks ago.

A driver's license and university ID belonging to Anna Marie Smith were found near a body that was located in a wooded area near campus on Saturday, according to police.

Smith, a college freshman at Appalachian State University, was last seen on campus by her roommate on Sept. 2, according to police.

The body was found after a tipster called police Friday and reported hearing screaming while jogging near the area a week ago, according to ABC News affiliate WSOC-TV in Charlotte, N.C.

A cause of death will be released upon completion of an autopsy.

4. Wedding Party From 9/11 Photo Say Found Pic Shows 'Resilience'

The woman who worked 13 years to return a wedding photo found in the rubble of the World Trade Center after the 9/11 attacks is representative of "the best of humanity," said the man who will finally get back the photograph he'd had tacked to his cubicle wall.

Fred Mahe, who worked on the 77th floor of the World Trade Center, thought he'd never see the photograph again after the buildings were destroyed in the Sept. 11 attacks.

Lauren Conrad is off the market! The former reality star wed William Tell on Saturday night, Us Weekly confirmed. The couple's wedding, held on the California coast, was attended by their family and friends.

"What a perfect way to start our lives together; surrounded by the people we love most," the couple told the magazine in a statement.

Conrad, 28, and Tell, 34, began dating in 2012 after being set up by mutual friends. They were engaged last fall.

"I am beyond thrilled," she said at the time.
