Authorities believe the Boston Marathon bomb plot was hatched without foreign help. In the hours before Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was charged with the crime that could lead to the death penalty, authorities tell ABC News the 19-year-old accused terrorist has started to provide his version of the events that led to the deadly attacks.
2. Mississippi River Communities Brace for Floods
Communities along the Mississippi River are on high alert, watching the makeshift levees that are holding back floodwaters. An inch of rain is expected to fall from Oklahoma to Michigan through Tuesday.
3. Iran Denies Link With Canadian Terror Plot
Iran has denied any links with an alleged terrorist plot to derail a passenger train, which Canadian authorities say was directed by al Qaeda operatives in Iran.
4. FBI's Most Wanted Caught in Nicaragua
A former Washington D.C. elementary school teacher, on the run since 2008, was captured in Nicaragua. Eric Justin Toth is accused of producing child pornography, including hiding a camera in a boy's toilet at the exclusive Beauvoir School. In 2012, Toth replaced Osama bin Laden on the FBI's most wanted.
5. 'Beautiful Bulldog' Contest Crowns New Champ
The new top dog is Huckleberry -- crowned Monday as this year's "Beautiful Bulldog." The 4-year-old won the pageant dressed in a beige suit inspired by the main character from "Forrest Gump."
