Transcript for Chris Christie is Sworn in Amid New Bullying Accusations; This Time From a Former Olympic Athlete
And a former olympian is in the news, tonight, making a charge at embattled governor Chris Christie of New Jersey. On the very day he was sworn in for a second term, another new allegation of bullying. And ABC's national correspondent Jim Avila has those details. Reporter: Chris Christie began his second term, sporting a more presidential haircut and noticeably lighter on his feet. Today's snow squall forced canceled the inaugural party. But it's the storm of scandal that has damaged Christie's straight-shooter publical brand. And bipartisanship. We have to play outside of the red and blue boxes that the media pundits put us in. Reporter: But today, another accusation, this time from new Jersey's own gold medal olympian sprinter, Carl lewis, who accused Christie of withdrawing an offer to be the state's athletic ambassador when lewis tried to run for state senator on the democratic ticket. It was pretty clear he was going to do what it took to get me out of the race. And so, intimidation, I think he's trying to intimidate me. Reporter: A new voice added to the three New Jersey mayors already accusing the governor of bullying. I think it was personal. Reporter: The Christie camp says lewis' charge is just sour grapes baz he failed residency requirements. But the man who outran the world, said he couldn't break through the hard ball political world of Chris Christie's New Jersey. Jim Avila, ABC news, New York.
