— -- The first series of clips for Netflix's highly anticipated Amanda Knox documentary have been released, and the film is set to come out later this month.

"Suddenly, I found myself tossed into this dark place," a voiceover by Knox begins in one of the trailers. "I was so scared."

Knox will be profiled in the film, which investigates the murder of her then-roommate, Meredith Kercher, while the two were living in Italy in 2007. Knox and her boyfriend at the time, Raffaele Sollecito, were convicted in Italian court for the murder, but their convictions were eventually overturned, and the two were released from prison, but not before years of battling the case in court.

In this teaser clip for the doc, Knox reflects on her "happy life" before living in Italy and her recollection of what happened to Kercher, which the film explores further.

Sollecito also speaks in the documentary, along with reporters who covered the case. The film describes the atmosphere surrounding the case at the time, which many considered a media circus.

Sobbing in the clip, Knox says, "I was a kid."

The official description for the movie on Netflix reads, "She was twice convicted and acquitted of murder. Hear personal accounts from the people inside the public spectacle in this documentary film."

When her conviction was finally overturned in 2015, Knox said she was relieved and "incredibly grateful for what has happened, for the justice I've received, for the support that I've had from everyone. What comes to mind is my gratitude for that life that has been given to me."

"Meredith was my friend, and she deserved so much in this life," she added.

"Amanda Knox" will be available for streaming on Netflix on Sept. 30.
