— -- The Arizona Arthritis Center is an organization that's dedicated to a world that's free of arthritis. To this end, we've brought together researchers and clinicians from a variety of different disciplines here at the University of Arizona. This includes people from the disciplines of orthopaedics, internal medicine and rheumatology, and psychosocial medicine, and also immunology and microbiology.

The research projects that go on here include, but aren't limited to, databases and information-gathering concerning patients with rheumatic diseases; new methods for replacing bone and cartilage in patients with osteoarthritis; immunologic studies on patients with systemic lupus erythematosus; a study on the relationship of oxytocin to inflammation in patients with rheumatoid arthritis; and a variety of others -- Coccidioidomycosis, or Valley Fever, and its interaction with patients with rheumatic diseases.

All of these help us further our goal, but we certainly need to have more support and more interest to make these things a success. If you need more information for this, please visit our website for the Arizona Arthritis Center at the University of Arizona. Thank you.
