— -- Forty-six million turkeys are eaten over the week of Thanksgiving, according to the National Turkey Federation, but not all are cooked without some turkey drama or trauma on the part of the chef.

Butterball says it answers more than 100,000 questions on their "Turkey Talk-Line" each year, with top questions centering on thawing a turkey, the cooking temperature and more.

To solve your turkey traumas and have your Thanksgiving dinner go smoothly, "Good Morning America" assembled an all-star lineup: celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito, Food Network favorite Amanda Freitag, and "Food Network Star" champ and former NFL player Eddie Jackson to answer your questions and dish up some last-minute recipe ideas. One viewer asked an important turkey-prep question via social media: "Where should I put the thermometer and does it stay in the whole time?"

“Cook your turkey to about 155 degrees and let it rest for about half an hour," DiSpirito said. "And you want to put the thermometer into the thigh. Let it sit there for a few minutes and adjust to catch the temperature.”

DiSpirito also offered up two secret ingredients to improve gravy: bourbon and protein powder.
